Keep your face visible in frame. A covered camera, a still image, or a pre-recorded video played in place of your camera closes the account.

• nudity, sexual acts, and sexual content of any kind
• a minor in front of the camera, for any reason whatsoever
• harassment, insults, threats
• hateful, racist or discriminatory speech and symbols
• violence, weapons, self-harm
• advertising, soliciting, links to other services
• recording or rebroadcasting the other person without their consent
• impersonating someone

The service is for adults aged 18 and over. Any account involving a minor is closed immediately and permanently. Content involving the exploitation of a minor is reported to the competent authorities, without delay and without condition.

If you come across such content, leave the conversation and report it right away.

A report button is available during every conversation. Give the reason: every report is reviewed. Reporting exposes you to nothing, and the other person is never told who reported them.

Repeated bad-faith reports, used to harm someone, are themselves sanctioned.

An automatic suspension requires a significant number of reports, from different people, within a short time. One person reporting ten times counts exactly as much as one person reporting once.

Reports from accounts that report very frequently, or whose reports keep being dismissed on review, are not counted at all. An accidental suspension is therefore not something that can happen through a single complaint or through one person holding a grudge.

An automatic suspension is always temporary and always open to appeal. Permanent closure is never automatic: it is decided by a person, looking at the evidence.

Depending on severity: a warning, a temporary suspension, or permanent closure of the account. The most serious cases, meaning sexual content, a minor or a threat, lead to immediate closure, with no prior warning and no refund.

We know automated moderation gets things wrong. If your account was suspended by mistake, write to hello@decal.ink. Every appeal is read by a person, and we answer within seventy-two hours. An account suspended in error is restored in full.

• never give out your address, your workplace or your schedule
• never share bank details or identity documents
• be wary of anyone asking you for money, whatever the pretext
• leave the conversation the moment you are uncomfortable: that is what the button is for
