Terms of use
Last updated: 16 September 2026
These terms govern the use of decal, a video chat service that connects strangers, available at decal.ink. By creating an account, you accept them.
1. Age requirement
The service is strictly reserved for people aged 18 and over. When you create an account, you expressly declare that you meet this age requirement. That declaration is time stamped and kept for as long as the account exists, because it is what justifies opening it. A false declaration is a breach of these terms and leads to immediate closure of the account, with no refund. Any account we have serious reason to believe belongs to a minor is closed without notice.
2. Account
Access to the chat requires an account, created via Google or Apple. You are responsible for how it is used. An account is personal: it cannot be shared, transferred, or resold.
Only one session can be open at a time. Opening a new session automatically closes the previous one.
3. Conduct
Detailed rules are set out on the Community rules page. In particular, the following are prohibited:
- nudity, sexual acts and any sexual content
- the presence of minors, on camera or on screen
- harassment, threats, hate and discrimination
- broadcasting pre-recorded images or videos in place of your camera
- advertising, soliciting and links to third-party services
- recording or rebroadcasting the other person without their consent
Failure to comply with these rules leads to closure of the account, with no refund of amounts already paid.
4. Subscription
Basic access is free. The subscription, optional, gives access to gender and country filters, priority in the queue, and removal of ads.
- 1 day free trial, then €9.99 per month, renewed automatically until cancelled.
- No charge is made during the trial day.
- You can cancel at any time, in one click from your account.
- Cancelling stops the renewal; the subscription stays active until the end of the period already paid for.
Refund terms are detailed on the Refunds page.
5. Availability
We work to keep the service available at all times, without guaranteeing it. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, technical incidents, or external causes. The service may change, and some features may be modified or removed.
We do not guarantee the conduct, the intentions, or the identity of the people you meet through the service. Conversations happen directly between participants, without us standing between them. You remain solely responsible for the information you choose to share with another person; never share bank details, identity documents, or passwords.
6. decal transmits, it does not publish
decal puts people in touch with each other and relays the connection between them. It does not choose, produce, or approve what someone shows or says. Video passes directly from one browser to the other and never goes through our servers.
Moderation acts within the limits of what it can detect. Its existence does not turn decal into the publisher of what users broadcast.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, decal’s liability is capped at the amounts you actually paid over the previous twelve months, and is nil if you have paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect damages, including lost data, harm to reputation, or lost profits.
8. Your indemnity to decal
You indemnify decal against any claim brought by a third party arising from your own conduct on the service, or from what you have shown, said, recorded, or rebroadcast.
9. Recording and rebroadcasting
Recording or rebroadcasting another person without their consent is prohibited, and whoever does it bears sole responsibility for it. If you want to broadcast your conversations live, use streamer mode: it describes the compliant way to do it, on the streamer mode page.
10. Force majeure
We are not liable for an interruption caused by an event beyond our control: a failure at a hosting provider or network operator, a cyberattack, or a decision by a public authority.
11. Severability
If one clause of these terms is found invalid, the others continue to apply.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts.
13. Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, without notice when the severity of the facts justifies it. You can appeal a decision by writing to us: every appeal is reviewed by a person.
14. Changes
These terms may be changed. In the event of a substantial change, users are notified before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service constitutes acceptance of the version in force.
