The random part is the point, but a well-built site removes the risk around it. Check for these before you trust one:

• An account is required. It sounds like friction, but it is the one thing that stops someone banned from simply opening a new tab and coming back.
• Nudity is checked before broadcast, not after. A site that only reacts to reports has already shown you the thing it was supposed to stop.
• You can report during the conversation itself, not through a buried contact form found later.
• A ban can be appealed, by a real person, and reversed if it was a mistake. A permanent block with no recourse is a red flag, not a safety feature.
• The basics are free. A country filter locked behind a paywall tells you more about the business model than about safety.
