What Azar is
Azar was launched in 2014 by Hyperconnect, a company based in Seoul, and has been part of Match Group since 2021. It is one of the largest one to one video chat apps in the world, and it offers translation so that people who do not share a language can talk.
We do not describe Azar’s pricing or paid filters here: they are not something we can verify reliably, and they can change. Check its store listing for the current details.

What Azar does better
Azar is far bigger than decal, and it has been running for more than a decade. On an app that size you find someone quickly, at almost any hour. Its translation also lets you talk to people you would not otherwise understand, which decal does not offer.
decal is new and small. At some hours you will wait longer for a match. We would rather say so than hide it.
Why some people choose decal instead
- Adults only. decal is reserved for people aged 18 and over, and an account (Google or Apple) is required.
- No ads, and a free country filter. Only the gender filter (women, men, couples) and priority in the queue are paid.
- Human moderation. Nudity is detected in the browser before broadcast on the site, and automatic detection alerts moderators in the Android app. A person reviews every report.
- An appeal for every suspension, at hello@decal.ink, with an answer within 72 hours.
- No recording. Video goes peer to peer, encrypted, and is never recorded. You can delete your account at any time.
